Feeding myself at the City View Cafe

I’m having no problem feeding myself this week as I’ve been to the culinary school cafe 3 times in less than a week.  Tonight I brought along Ed’s parents so they could see the college and Ed in his new environment – Ed was Ranger One tonight, cooking meats.  Each of the 24 students has a different role assignment each day – front of house included.  As these are students, this makes for some interesting table service and presents a needed opportunity to practice my patience and grace.

The food was really good again.  Mom had one of her favorites, eggs benedict, which came with 2 benedicts (what would you call these servings?) and potatoes, dad had a huge made-to-order omelette with potatoes and I tried the breakfast salad, at Ed’s suggestion.  It was a spinach salad with 2 poached eggs on top and it was tasty – and not just in the "interesting" way.  We had "Doughnuts and Coffee" for dessert – 4 freshly made cinnamon doughnuts with a raspberry coulis and a chocolate coffee creme on the side.

The total bill was $16.  And that included a second order of doughnuts that I brought home for Ed and I to enjoy later tonight.  I wish he’d get here…they are calling to me.
